You will be part of the R&D Systems Engineering organization of the Philips SRC business. Looking at the challenges the world is facing today Philips’ purpose has never been more relevant. This position is responsible for developing and executing embedded testing strategies, ensuring alignment between the strategic objectives of the Test Engineering function and those of the broader engineering and support teams within the business units.

You will be part of the R&D Systems Engineering organization of the Philips SRC business. Looking at the challenges the world is facing today Philips’ purpose has never been more relevant. This position is responsible for developing and executing embedded testing strategies, ensuring alignment between the strategic objectives of the Test Engineering function and those of the broader engineering and support teams within the business units.
You are responsible for
- Performing software testing (automated or manual) within the systems/agile/scrum team
- Providing test expertise to define and drive software test strategies and initiatives at feature and system level
- Reviewing (functional and non-functional) requirements / stories / features for accuracy and testability
- Conducting functional and performance, load and reliability testing
- Automating tests and tests own code. Selects and applies test management tools / simulation models / test frameworks / scripting languages
- Documenting test plans, protocols, and reports
- Supporting design changes for quality impact
- Leveraging data driven insights from customer feedback, log files, maintenance history, etc to develop test scenarios
- Writing, updating, and executing manual test protocols for medical devices
- Create, update, and verify test plans, verification protocols and final test reports
- Design and develop platform and individual tools for automated testing
- Design, develop, and automate test procedures for firmware, software, integration, and systems
- Developing, reviewing, and executing test protocols for automation platform and tooling
- inlead the SW test team in R&D and SW Quality Engineering to analyze test failures and aid in root case analysis
- Track software related issues and lead resolution of issues with a well-documented and methodical approach
- Collaborate with program managers to create and manage development plans and project plans related to software development
- Drive test automation, continuous integration (CI/CD), code analysis, code reviews
- Ensure quality and functionality during development from unit testing through verification testing
- Apply agile/Scrum and test-driven product development methodologies to produce quality products
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Electronics & Communication engineering or similar technical discipline
- 5 + years of software testing experience including automated testing
- Experience in embedded software development in general and (embedded) software testing in particular and from medical domain.
- C# programming skills
- Experience with automated test scripting, performance and load testing, continuous builds and test frameworks/methodologies
- Working knowledge of test management tools and frameworks
- Familiarity with Agile SW Development practices and DevOps.
- Experience and knowledge of design and development of software that adheres to privacy and security best practices is highly preferred
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management tools such as HP ALM, PTC Integrity, GitHub
- A tech savvy and innovative mindset
- Experience with requirements management and software configuration management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
