About the role
The Zellis Intelligence Platform (ZIP) is a purpose-built application designed to deliver a source of data for Analytics and Data Integration. We have built a schema that presents the key datapoints necessary to drive insightful analytics and data visualisations through PowerBI whilst also delivering a suite of APIs to enable third party solutions to integrate with Zellis HCM Cloud.
The team responsible for developing and maintaining the PowerBI reports and dashboards is looking for a senior tester to join them to help accelerate the roadmap for ZIP.
In this role your key responsibilities will be:
- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases to validate Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, performance and reliability.
- Work within the larger ZIP ecosystem and the respective engineering teams which includes Power BI, Work Report and RRS.
- Work with the application and technical support teams to review customer-related issues and help resolve them in a timely manner.
- Role model the use of Azure DevOps (ADO), ensuring accurate completion to promote continuous improvement.
- Review, maintain and improve existing automated tests.
Skills & experience
- Strong experience in testing Power BI reports (manual and automated).
- Strong experience in using Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Knowledge of data validation techniques and methodologies.
- Experience of using ODATA APIs.
- Experience of working with large datasets and data reconciliation testing.
- Experience of writing test cases in plain language using Gherkin syntax, making them understandable to all team members.
- Background in HR and payroll data validation (preferred but not required).
- Ability to work alone as well as part of an agile-based team, with at least two years’ experience of using Scrum methodologies.
- Must have strong attention to detail traits ensuring you can identify discrepancies in reports and ensure high data accuracy.
- Must have good analytical and proactive problem-solving skills, recommending solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
