Technical Project Manager

Role Description

CSA’s Advanced Projects team is seeking a highly experienced Technical Project Manager to join a global team of cybersecurity specialists, data scientists, and software engineers. This mid-senior role requires a deep understanding of product management, data engineering, data science, advanced analytics, research and development, or innovation, ideally within cybersecurity domains (e.g., network security, endpoint and cloud security, cryptography, malware analysis, vulnerability assessment, privileged access management, anomaly/intrusion detection, incident response, or offensive security).

As an experienced Technical Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering analytics engineering solutions to Cybersecurity teams, ensuring the successful management of the product backlog and leading Agile Scrum teams. You’ll be responsible for translating complex business requirements into technical solutions and driving continuous improvement in delivery processes.

Principal Accountabilities

• Project Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects within the Agile lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Scope & Requirements Definition: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and requirements. Effectively translate client needs into actionable deliverables.
• Risk & Dependency Management: Identify, manage, and communicate project dependencies and risks. Provide proactive solutions and escalate issues as needed to maintain project momentum and ensure timely delivery.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee project progress, track key metrics, and ensure project milestones are achieved. Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
• Client-Centric Approach: Engage directly with clients to understand their business needs, ensuring that the delivered solutions meet expectations. Cultivate strong relationships and act as the primary liaison between clients and the internal team.
• Backlog Management: Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is prioritized based on client value, strategic goals, and available resources. Continuously refine and prioritize backlog items to drive project success.
• Continuous Improvement: Leverage previous experience to improve team processes, reduce inefficiencies, and ensure the Agile Scrum team operates smoothly and delivers high-quality solutions.
  
  

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience across the following areas and a passion for further skill development:

• Project Management:
• Over 8 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or in a similar role, particularly within an Agile environment.
• Strong track record of managing complex technical projects from initiation to delivery, including scope definition, resource management, and risk mitigation.
• Proven experience managing product backlogs and prioritizing based on client value, strategic goals, and business priorities.
• Expertise in managing stakeholder relationships, understanding client needs, and driving innovation through creative technical solutions.
• Agile Methodology Expertise:
• Advanced understanding of Agile Scrum principles and their practical application in delivering high-quality technical products.
• Experienced in leading Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
• Ability to translate client needs into actionable user stories and product requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Cybersecurity Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat landscapes, and risk management frameworks.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity domains including network security, cryptography, malware analysis, and incident response.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the cybersecurity space, and their implications for project delivery.
• Knowledge of AI/ML techniques in cybersecurity and their application to threat detection and risk mitigation.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong technical background, with an understanding of software engineering principles and technologies.
• Familiarity with data engineering, data science, and analytics techniques applied within cybersecurity contexts.
• Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in cybersecurity.
