Job Description
The Solution /Technical Lead function plays a critical role to support, lead and collaborate with team members in a cross-functional team to deliver world-class and high-quality products in for Group Tech.
- Lead the development of components of the overall app architecture (high level and detailed technical definition and design) ensuring accurate documentation is available to the team
- Use awareness of Agile principles, techniques, and processes and how they fit within the work environment to influence work approach and value creation
- Complete detailed design and functional specification and provide deep technical expertise downstream in build and test.
- Help motivate the team especially when there is pressure to meet targets
- Advise on the consistent use of, and adherence to, operational policies, standards, tools, and processes to ensure consistent application maintenance and fulfilment of regulatory obligations.
- Use knowledge of business strategy and development to advance technology solutions, assisting our customers and partner organizations
Experience -
- Prior experience working in property management and/or physical security technologies.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong experience required in completing system process analysis and end-to-end design.
- Strong experience required in data analytics & integration technologies.
- Full stack development, DevOps implementation & Oracle knowledge highly advantageous.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Detail JD:
Understanding and solution design capabilities on APIs. Few items listed below for reference
- JSON APIs, proxies, Producer, listener
- Redis Cache, Datastore, Authentication patterns
- Alerting, Monitoring and reporting mechanism and heath checks
- Knowledge on Failsafe and recovery of API and data. Minimising data loss.
Architecture and Integration solution design:
- Understand the Business requirement and work with Solution Architect to ensure the solution covers all requirements.
- Call out solution gaps and any concerns that may arise when the detailed design will be worked out
- Work with Integration architect on API portfolio configuration. Provide inputs to Integration architect
- Review Architecture solution design document
Detailed design:
- Ensure design traceability is captured on every Business requirement
- Accountable for detailed design that captures every detail on API design and outcomes
- Socialise design with relevant stakeholders, Fine tune and obtain approvals
- Ensure design constraints are raised to the PM, architects, Business and other stakeholders to obtain resolution / decision
Network:
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms, connectivity points and traffic path
- Capability to work with Network teams to get Firewall port, connectivity test done and other network bottlenecks identified.
Infrastructure (Servers, Storage and connectivity):
- Understand the current state and future state of solution
- Work with Infrastructure architect to ensure both current state and future state is documented by Architect and identify gaps
- Run with activities that are required for future state coordinating with Infrastructure and Network teams
- Ensure end to end Infrastructure and network tests are completed and results documented.
- Liaise with Infrastructure architect to get Infrastructure design completed.
User Access management and User Life cycle:
- Work with Identity access management (IAM) teams on Single sign on and User onboarding
- Coordinate with vendor on tests and configuration to accomplish the above
- Ensure IAM design document is obtained from IAM team
Development and Testing:
- Ensure developers are aware of the solution, API config and related tasks
- Drive development core activities with developers
- Review Test cases and approach
- Ensure Design and development is aligned to test cases based on Business requirements
- Resolve design issues and help Developers with their queries
Deployment:
- Work on Implementation plan that outlines all activities related to deployment.
- Raise Change record within Westpac system
- Walkthrough of Implementation plan and ensure all participating teams understand their delivery and identify gaps
Governance and documentation:
- Responsible for detailed design document. Walkthrough of document and sign off
- Provide inputs to all technical items in the support handbook and ensure enough details are populated in the document for the BAU teams to carry out activities after handover
- Conduct walkthrough sessions of support handbook with BAU teams, take inputs and finalise details.
Warranty period support:
- Monitor the deployed solution after Go-Live (Production)
- Record any technical issues reported by BAU teams and work on resolution
