Your Role And Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Proxy Specialist to design, implement, and manage enterprise-level proxy infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure secure internet access for users, enforce web access policies, and protect against web-based threats. This role involves daily operations, troubleshooting, and optimization of proxy services, while working closely with security, IT, and compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise proxy solutions such as Blue Coat (Symantec), Zscaler, Palo Alto GlobalProtect, Squid Proxy, etc.
• Implement and manage URL filtering, SSL decryption, access control policies, and user authentication mechanisms.
• Monitor proxy traffic, logs, and alerts to identify anomalies and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Collaborate with security teams to respond to web-based threats and suspicious activities.
• Troubleshoot issues related to internet access, policy enforcement, and performance.
• Support proxy integrations with Identity and Access Management (IAM), SIEM, and other security systems.
• Generate reports on internet usage, policy violations, and threat patterns for compliance and audit needs.
• Work with network teams to ensure optimized routing and availability of proxy infrastructure.
• Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base related to proxy administration.
  
  

Preferred Education

High School Diploma/GED

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• 1–2 years of experience in managing and troubleshooting enterprise proxy environments.
• Hands-on expertise with proxy solutions (e.g., Zscaler, Blue Coat, McAfee Web Gateway, Cisco Umbrella).
• Deep understanding of web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS), DNS, and TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with SSL inspection, user/group-based filtering, bypass rules, and PAC files.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with directory services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP) for user authentication.
  
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Certifications such as Zscaler Certified Specialist (ZCCP), Symantec ProxySG, or CCNP Security.
• Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud-based proxy solutions).
• Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation and reporting.
• Experience working in regulated environments with audit and compliance requirements.
