Overview

• Configure and maintain network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Ensure network security and implement necessary measures to prevent unauthorized access.
• Implement and monitor security policies to safeguard against cyber threats (e.g., firewalls, antivirus software).
• Regularly apply patches and updates to secure systems against vulnerabilities.
• Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor system performance and network traffic to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system failures, hardware issues, and software bugs.
• Networking Skills: Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Hardware Knowledge: In-depth understanding of computer components (CPU, RAM, hard drives, motherboards), peripherals (printers, monitors), and the tools required for their maintenance and repair.
• Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with networking technologies such as LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi standards.
• Education: A degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often preferred, though some positions may accept equivalent experience.
