Overview
Job Summary: The System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including computer systems, software applications, and network security. This role involves providing technical support to users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the security and privacy of our data. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to IT management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Provide timely technical support to users via phone, email, or in person.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
- Assist users with basic computer functions, software applications, and technical queries.
- System & Software Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software applications, and peripherals.
- Perform regular software updates, patches, and system maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Set up and configure printers, scanners, and other peripherals as needed.
- Network Administration:
- Manage and troubleshoot networking issues, including connectivity, bandwidth, and security.
- Ensure the security and privacy of systems and data by implementing and following company policies.
- Monitor network performance and optimize it as necessary.
- Collaboration & Problem Resolution:
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Document technical processes, procedures, and solutions for future reference.
- Provide training to users on basic computer functions and software applications.
- Asset Management:
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring they are up-to-date and in good condition.
- Manage hardware lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, and disposal.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or similar role.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and MS Outlook.
- Proficiency in networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are desirable.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
