Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Storage and Backup Admin (L2) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our storage and backup systems, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT team members.
Job Description

• Technologies: Strong Knowledge in Veritas NetBackup, Backup Exec and Backup Appliances (Storage), Oracle SL150 Tape Library.
• Implementation: Installation and configuration of Veritas NetBackup, Backup EXEC, Backup Appliances and Tape Library.
• Strong Knowledge in Backup Types and Configuring the Agent Based backup for File system, Database, Active Directory and VM Based Backups with appropriate policies and schedules and Retention Periods.
• Basic Knowledge in Windows/Linux for Backup Agent Installation and configuration.
• Administration: Master and Media Server Management, Media Pool Creation
• Certificate Management and Token Management.
• Daily Backup Health checks and Periodic Restoration Checks based On RTO and RPO.
• Storage: Maintain and manage the NetBackup Appliance and Oracle SL150 Tape Library
• Strong Understanding skills in Disk RAID Levels and Appliance architecture and Tape Drive Paths, Robotic Operations, Load/Eject the Tapes.
• Daily Basis Monitoring and Hardware health checks.
• Storage size optimization and performance improvements for data integrity and reliability
• Periodic Changes of Tapes as per retention periods and safeguarding the Tapes.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Storage and Backup. Analysing the failures, providing RCA for P1 issues using Data Collects.
• Solutions: Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Develop and exhibit technical subject matter expertise on assigned systems.
• Perform system updates, patching, and backup version upgrade
• Support: Collaborate with IT teams for infrastructure improvements, participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support, provide support for end-users and respond to incidents as per SLA requirements and Coordination with TAC.
• Documentation: Maintain SOPs, POAs & KPIs Documents
• Reports: Maintain Storage sizing, Backup and Restoration Reports
