We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to step into a pivotal role—part Solution Architect, part AI Transformation Leader. This role is designed for a builder and systems thinker who’s eager to architect modern, scalable platforms and also lead the charge on integrating GenAI and agentic AI into the core of how we engineer.
You’ll work across product engineering, SRE, platform, and data teams to create internal systems that are more intelligent, adaptive, and empowering—elevating both speed and quality of delivery.

In this role, a significant aspect of the job involves working in the office for a standard 40-hour workweek. We believe that the collaborative nature of our work and the face-to-face interactions among team members are essential for fostering a dynamic and productive work environment. Being present in the office enables seamless communication, facilitates quick decision-making, and encourages spontaneous collaboration that contributes to the overall success of our projects. Compensation
The expected earnings for this role could be comprised of a base salary and other forms of cash compensation, such as bonus or commissions as applicable.
This pay range is just one component of MX’s total rewards package. MX takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location, skillset, peer compensation.

What You'll Do
- Architect and evolve critical internal systems across platform engineering, developer experience, observability, and data.
- Drive the strategy and implementation of GenAI and agentic AI use cases across internal engineering workflows—from intelligent observability and auto-remediation to AI-augmented knowledge systems and automation agents.
- Partner closely with SRE, data, product, and infra teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that amplify team capabilities.
- Build and iterate quickly—embracing experimentation, prototyping, and fast feedback loops to unlock business value.
- Champion a founder mindset across engineering, helping drive clarity, alignment, and ownership in complex, cross-team initiatives.
- Influence and guide engineering direction through architecture reviews, mentorship, and technical storytelling.
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong track record in solution architecture, platform engineering, or infrastructure/SRE roles.
- Experience designing and scaling complex systems and internal platforms at a fast-moving tech company.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and hands-on experience (or strong interest) in working with LLMs, embeddings, RAG, vector search, agentic workflows, and tools like OpenAI, LangChain, or similar frameworks.
- Systems thinker with a bias for action and iteration—you care about long-term sustainability but know how to deliver value incrementally.
- Passionate about developer experience, engineering productivity, and building tools that make engineers’ lives easier and more impactful.
- Comfortable leading without formal authority—rallying teams around a technical vision and moving fast in ambiguity.
- Play a key role in a company-wide transformation, architecting the platforms and intelligence that power financial wellness.
- Help lead the responsible adoption of GenAI and agentic AI across real-world engineering systems.
- Work in a culture that values ownership, speed, and continuous innovation—where engineers are empowered to think like founders.
