Staff Software Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Experience building and developing infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

The Defense and Consulting Engineering (DCE) team’s mission is to ensure our customers are never alone in their struggles to keep up with the expansion of security data and the complexity of cyber attacks. Our team is passionate about enabling Mandiant service delivery teams to find evil in the most advanced attacks, being efficient in their work and leveraging the technologies and threat intelligence. Responsibilities

• Lead 3-4 engineering mission teams and influence and coach engineers and build a team for engineering excellence.
• Review feature designs and code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure engineering best practices are being followed.
• Evaluate trade-offs between maintainability, extensibility, infrastructure investments and feature development, and ensure engineers are taking data driven decisions
• Work with DCE cross functional leadership to build and influence feature roadmaps, accomplishing interlocks with engineering tech partners.
• Partner and collaborate with adjacent engineering organizations, product management, UX engineering and technical program management to launch product solutions in a timebound manner.
