Sr. Software Engineer - Backend

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing the backend services and APIs that power our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and designers, to develop robust, scalable, and high-performance backend solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services, APIs, and microservices to support the needs of the business.
• System Architecture: Architect and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable systems. Ensure high availability, low latency, and performance optimization for large-scale applications.
• API Design: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or other backend communication protocols to integrate with frontend systems and third-party services.
• Database Management: Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases. Ensure efficient database queries, indexing, and data models to support complex business logic.
• Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot and optimize backend services and systems to ensure scalability and high performance. Perform code profiling and implement performance improvements.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to build end-to-end solutions. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit tests, integration tests, and other quality assurance practices to ensure the backend code is robust and reliable. Work with QA engineers to fix bugs and resolve issues.
• Security: Ensure the security of backend systems by following best practices for authentication, authorization, data protection, and secure communication protocols.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in backend development. Contribute to improving the team's development processes, architecture, and code quality.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with expertise in building scalable and maintainable systems.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, or Node.js. Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.
• Databases: Expertise in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis). Knowledge of database optimization and query performance tuning.
• API Design: Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs. Knowledge of API authentication and authorization strategies (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Microservices & Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes). Familiarity with service discovery and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Knowledge of deploying and managing services in a cloud environment.
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and version control workflows (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Testing Frameworks: Experience with unit testing frameworks, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
• Collaboration & Leadership: Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. Proven experience in mentoring or leading junior developers and driving technical decisions.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with event-driven architectures and serverless computing.
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with full-stack development or working with frontend technologies (JavaScript, React, etc.).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
• Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus).

Pay: ₹556,975.82 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
