Job Description

This role is a mix of being a developer, an architect, and to some extent, an evangelist, by actively engaging with customers to help them understand, plan and prototype Generative AI applications including techniques like Retrieval Augmented Generation and Agentic AI, design and assist in execution of proofs of concept, design sample code/applications and optionally write hands-on-labs, write technical blogs, and present at industry forums.
The Software Developer closely partners with Product Managers and the sales teams to influence developers, architects, CTO, CDO, and CIO. You will bring a strong sense of ownership and a ‘build, own, sell, and support’ mentality.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Take a leading role in the development, testing, building, and release management of Oracle products to support rapid experimentation and iterative development for Generative AI applications. This includes technologies like document readers, chunking strategies, embedding, vectors, semantic search, RAG, agents, evaluation, prompt engineering, history and context, re-ranking, grounding, model hyper-parameters, and so on.
- Participate in Oracle contributions to the Generative AI-related frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, Spring AI and so on.
- Engage with peers to increase the awareness of Oracle’s offerings for rapid experimentation and development of Generative AI applications using Oracle Database 23ai AI Vector Search, Generative/inferencing models (LLMs, SLMs), embedding models, and frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph.
- Deliver engaging product demos and presentations to potential customers and partners.
- Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
- Minimum ten years’ experience as a professional software developer (does not have to be ten years in AI-related fields).
- Strong technical skills and a passion for quality, maintainability, clarity and delivery.
- Proven software development capabilities and extensive experience with Python and at least one other major language, for example Java.
- At least one year’s experience building applications with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agents, performing evaluation and so on.
- Additional AI or Machine Learning experience, for example training, fine tuning, neural networks, data analysis, data science, experience with tools like NumPy, Pandas, or PyTorch, and so on, is advantageous but not necessary.
- Enthusiastic, proactive approach to learning.
- Project management skills—attention to detail, time management, communication, coordination.
