Sr. Network Engineer

Location: Hyderabad - WFO

Role - Network Engineer - L3

Responsibilities- Core Networking ( Cisco Routing & Switching, Meraki, Zscaler, and SD-WAN)

• Respond to network incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Perform initial triage and troubleshooting of network-related incidents.
• Troubleshoot network issues related to Cisco Routing & Switching, Zscaler, Meraki, and SD-WAN technologies.
• Analyze network performance metrics and logs to identify and resolve issues.
• Configure and deploy Cisco routers and switches for LAN and WAN connectivity.
• Implement VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing for network segmentation.
• Deploy and maintain Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) solutions.
• Assist in the deployment and management of SD-WAN and Meraki solutions, including vManage, vBond, and vSmart.
• Assist in the implementation of network changes and updates following change management processes.
• Document all changes made to network configurations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Design and implement complex Cisco Routing & Switching configurations, including dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
• Optimize network performance and reliability by fine-tuning routing protocols and QoS policies.
• Design and implement advanced Zscaler security policies to protect against evolving threats.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues, including packet captures and analysis.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 support engineers on troubleshooting methodologies.
• Conduct capacity planning assessments to ensure network scalability and performance.
• Design and implement network architecture changes to support business requirements and growth.
• Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for network upgrades and enhancements.
• Engage with vendors and third-party providers to resolve escalated network issues.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate support activities for critical network components.
• Participate in vendor evaluations and product selection processes for network infrastructure.

Mandatory Skills-

• Must have knowledge of Static Routing, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, VTP, Truck, inter VLAN, STP, MSTP, stacks, VSS, VPC, VDC. Experience with inter-company routing is preferred.
• Hands-on working experience on Cisco Switches, 2950, 3750,3850, C9000 series Power Stacking, Data Stacking, HSRP, VRRP & GLBP.
• Expert knowledge of protocols such as HTTP, SMBSMTP, FTP, DNS, TLS/SSL, TCP, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of technologies like VPN, VXLAN, VRRP, HSRP, STP, Port channel, NetFlow, and stacking technologies.
• Knowledge or experience with modern data center fabrics such as Nexus 9K using NDFC (DCNM), Arista VXLAN-BGP-EVPN, or Cisco ACI.
• Working technical knowledge of network and security protocols (IPSEC VPN, QoS, SGT, SSL VPN, AAA, Dot1x, TustSec, NAT, etc).
• Security Knowledge on Firewall (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto) & NAC(ISE).
• Familiarity with collecting and analyzing packet captures using Network Protocol Analyzers such as TCPDUMP, and Wireshark on Network Security (SSL/TLS, VPNs, Firewall).
• Familiar with Authentication systems such as LDAP, MS AD, SAML, & VPN technologies such as IPSEC and Remote access VPN.
• Experience implementing Cisco Nexus 9K and Cisco Catalyst 9K switching.
• Maintain, lead, and deploy fabric-enabled networks with Cisco DNAC.
• Knowledge or experience with SD-WAN: - including vManage, vBond, vSmart. The role requires the ability to design, deploy, configure, and manage SD-WAN solutions, encompassing SD-WAN policies, templates, and orchestrators.
• Execute end-to-end deployment of SD-WAN policies, templates, and orchestrators. QoS Implementation.
• SD-WAN Design and Deployment: Design, implement, and manage SD-WAN solutions, covering components such as vManage, vBond, and vSmart.
• Design, implement, and manage Cisco Meraki SD-WAN solutions
• Expert in troubleshooting network issues and familiarity with the necessary tools such as Ping, Traceroute, MTR, NMAP, Telnet, NSLOOKUP etc.
• Good experience working on SolarWinds NPM, NCM, IPAM, and syslog.
• Knowledge or experience with the Zscaler ZIA portal. Creating Zscaler firewall control policy based on change requests.
• Knowledge or experience with proxy services, particularly BlueCoat hardware and Zscaler cloud-based solutions (ZIA & ZPA), ZIA proxy policies like URL filtering, Malware and file control for users.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve network issues.
