Software Test Engineer

Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Test Engineer with hands-on experience in both Manual and Automation Testing to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing test cases, executing tests, reporting defects, and ensuring high-quality releases of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Manual Testing

• Analyze requirements and write detailed, comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Log, track, and retest defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover potential edge cases or usability issues.
• Review user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure test coverage.

Automation Testing

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using tools like Selenium, TestNG, Postman, or equivalent.
• Develop and manage test automation frameworks for UI, API, or performance testing.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
• Optimize test cases for faster execution and better coverage.
• Investigate and troubleshoot automation failures and provide timely fixes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in software testing (manual + automation).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in tools such as Selenium WebDriver, JIRA, TestNG, Postman, etc.
• Basic understanding of programming/scripting languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of database testing and writing SQL queries.
• Experience in REST API testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with BDD tools (e.g., Cucumber).
• Knowledge of mobile application testing (Android/iOS).
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).
• Exposure to cloud-based test environments.
