Software Engineer-JavaScript Frontend

Job Location: Commerzone IT Tech Park, Yerwada - Pune.

Required Experience: 2-4 years

Job Description:

The Client Engineer plays a critical role on the frontlines of our game development team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing games at Light & Wonder. In this role, you will debug, modify, and provide ongoing support for in-game features, development, and operational tools, ensuring timely updates and smooth gameplay.

You must possess strong technical skills to operate independently and excellent communication and collaboration skills to be a valued team player. As a Software Engineer, you should have a solid foundation of skills, experience, and work ethic, with a willingness to learn from your teammates while contributing to the creation of games that delight our customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain client-side code for both desktop and mobile games efficiently and thoroughly.
• Develop and support client/server-based applications using a variety of technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and more.
• Address and resolve production issues by coordinating with different teams and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Identify and implement new tools and improved processes to support the Development team.
  
  
  

Position Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  
  
  

Required Experience:

• 2-4 years of software development experience
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks, and workarounds
• Experience in Data structures (JavaScript or any programming language)
• Basic understanding of web mark-up, including HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with development tools including IDEs, debuggers, bug tracking required
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, CVS, SVN.
• Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages.
  
  
  

Preferred Experience:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with TypeScript.
• Knowledge of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, jQuery, NodeJS etc.
• Hands on experience on other programming languages such as Java, C++, Python etc
• Familiarity with front-end build tools, such as Grunt
• Distributed application (client/server) development experience
• Game Development experience.
• Experience in UI development and animations.
