Job Summary
As a Software Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for participating in the development, testing and debugging of the Virtualization provisioning on-prem product and the underlying operating systems and file systems that run NetApp storage applications. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development.
About Our Team
Join the Virtualization Provisioning and Protection team part of the NetApp ONTAP Unified Manageability Framework Engineering BU, based in Bangalore for an exciting journey. This team is pioneering the development of Enterprise Virtualization Provisioning on-prem product. We are working on building a horizontally highly scalable architecture which can work on both on-prem & cloud to support the requirements of large enterprise customers, with an ability to perform end-to-end life cycle management for virtual machines in VMware environments that use NetApp storage systems. This role would provide an opportunity to lead, groom & nurture a team of talented individuals, impart your vision, and rapidly develop next generation Virtualization provisioning and protection solutions.
Job Requirements
- Strong Devops skills - pipeline management, shell and Python scripting, Jenkins, exposure to build tools (Black Duck, Bitbucket/Git, Coverity, Gitleaks, Atlassian integration)
- Strong inclination towards enterprise security, certificate management, authorization, authentication and proficiency in various development tools associated with it
- Good understanding of developing software with third party open source libraries and their implications including vulnerability analysis.
- Ability to churn code in Java & Golang.
- Strong understanding of Docker containers, RESTAPIs, Kubernetes.
- Excellent understanding of concepts of storage.
- Knowledge on VMware Virtualization is preferred and a plus.
- Should exhibit strong collaboration skills and problem solving.
- Strong understanding and application of concepts of computer architecture, data structures and standard programming practices.
- Must be able to follow the software engineering quality development practices and agile development model
- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of other engineers to meet aggressive goals and meet high quality.
- Willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.
Education
A minimum of 8 years of experience is required, 9 to 12 years of experience is preferred.
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics and Communications or Computer Science or Information Technology, or a master's degree; or equivalent experience is required.
