The Data Engineering team is part of Cloud Technology Group, which delivers cutting-edge cloud and edge networking solutions to the market. We design, implement, deploy and operate data streaming platforms with a primary mission to enable product teams to develop high-performing operationally safe and secure products in an agile manner.

As a Software Engineer I, you will join a team of software and platform engineers. Your team will enhance platform core services and will design and develop tools for managing 100% availability.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to hands-on platform development activities - coding, debugging and testing
• Building integrating, supporting and improving data streaming services on Akamai Platform with focus on systems for collecting and analyzing performance metrics
• Conducting code and design reviews with peers; documenting your work, and engaging in process improvement
• Designing and developing DevOps tools to make the software delivery system run seamlessly
• Developing processes and tools to monitor, analyze, maintain and improve data pipelines usability and observability

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
• Have experience with SQL and software development using at least 2 out of Golang, Python, C/C++, Rust
• Have experience with distributed systems and Linux networking, including TCP/IP, SSH, SSL and HTTP protocols
• Have good understanding of big data platforms, like Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink or Apache Spark
• Demonstrate skills in bash scripting , SQL
