Software Engineer - Mainframe Developer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe applications.
• Optimize and enhance existing mainframe applications for better performance and efficiency.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Provide production support and resolve issues within SLA timelines.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.

Skills Required:

• 7+ years of strong mainframe experience with COBOL/JCL/CICS/VSAM/DB2.
• Strong design and development skills in the above-mentioned technical stack.
• Financial services domain experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving experience for implementation, debugging, and testing.
• Work proactively & independently to address project requirements, and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address project delivery risks.
• Able to work as part of a virtual team in a culturally diverse background.
• Good time management skills.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field
