Position: Software Engineer II
Location: Bangalore, India
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of innovative features using Modern C++ and Object-Oriented Design principles.
- Maintain and enhance an extensive 1.5 million-line C++ codebase running on Linux systems, ensuring code quality and performance.
- Take ownership of code quality through the creation and execution of comprehensive unit tests.
- Optimize code performance by analyzing and measuring resource utilization.
- Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate with the team to ensure code integrity and best practices.
- Engage in hands-on debugging, including working with third-party video and network equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and remote teams across multiple time zones to design and implement new features.
- Foster a growth-oriented mindset by being open to feedback, learning from mistakes, and continuously improving.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in software development with strong programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software systems.
- Expertise in Modern C++ and Object-Oriented Software Development practices.
- Comfortable with designing new features, breaking down tasks, and providing accurate time estimations.
- Proficient in Linux-based development environments.
- Experience with Git version control and following Git-flow processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and remote teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in embedded systems development and debugging.
- Understanding of real-time processing and its constraints.
- Familiarity with continuous integration principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Exposure to full-stack development methodologies.
- Experience with Ubuntu package management.
- Knowledge of GPU programming, including OpenCL, CUDA, or Halide.
