Introduction to role

We are seeking a skilled Developer and Support Specialist to design, develop, and maintain efficient databases and applications, including both front-end and back-end components, while ensuring the smooth operation of systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance, develop scalable application solutions, and troubleshoot system-related issues. The role requires you to work in shift.

Accountabilities

Application Development (Front-End and Back-End)

Design, develop, and maintain scalable front-end user interfaces (UI) using modern frameworks and tools (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
Develop and maintain robust back-end systems, including APIs, services, and business logic, using languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure seamless and user-friendly front-end designs.
Integrate front-end and back-end components with databases and other systems to create full-stack solutions.
Implement best practices for responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
Ensure secure application development by adhering to industry standards for data protection, authentication, and authorization.
Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Application and Database Maintenance
Monitor and maintain both applications and database systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in front-end, back-end, and database systems, including performance bottlenecks and errors.
Conduct root cause analysis for application and database-related support incidents and implement preventive measures.
Support the lifecycle of applications, including upgrades, version control, and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure regular database backups, disaster recovery plans, and application resiliency measures.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Developer or in a similar role.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
• Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.
• Certification in SQL or database technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, Oracle Database Administrator).
• Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
