Overview
The Strategic Software Engineer is accountable to IT Platform Leadership for key technical deliverables and application implementations on large or complex development efforts. They understand business roadmaps, drive technology improvements, and lead technical project execution. This person is highly motivated and technically proficient with deep experience developing and leading the technical track on projects and research efforts. A strong performer that regularly exceeds expectations. The Strategic Software Engineer will apply advanced technical innovations, best practice architecture and design patterns, DevOps and automation that improve the technical landscape across the enterprise. This person has mastered the ability to communicate complex concepts at leadership and staff levels. Their vision across all lines of business allows them to deliver solutions that scale with the future. This person understands the nuances of working through discrepancies and gaining support across the organization for technical solutions. They have mastered the ability to mentor software engineers at all levels. This person quickly identifies gaps in technical skills and directs the technical team toward training and mentoring to build a stronger and more capable team.
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS:
- 12+ or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- ServiceNow development experience – required.
- CSDM framework and robust CMDB implementations – required.
- Data structures, relationships, modelling business services in ServiceNow – required.
- REST/SOAP API Concepts.
- ServiceNow GRC applications and workflows.
- Unit and Integration Tests, Dev Ops Principals: Builds, Releases · JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, SharePoint.
- Entity Framework, SQL stored procedures Visual Studio, VS Code.
- Experience developing scalable web-based applications.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps Tools which contribute to the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a creative problem solver, flexible, proactive, and work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to see big picture and understand goals of the business to facilitate best solutions.
