Server Engineer/ Network Engineer

Overview

Position overview We are seeking a skilled Server Engineer to join our IT security team. The ideal candidatewill have hands-on experience managing and maintaining firewall systems to ensuretheprotection of company data and networks. As a Server engineer, you will play a critical roleinsafeguarding the company's digital assets from external threats, enforcing security policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:
 Design, configure, and manage firewalls for both physical and virtual server environments.
 Implement and maintain firewall policies to ensure the protection of internal networks and systems from external threats.
 Regularly monitor firewall logs for suspicious activity and perform security audits.
 Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues across the network infrastructure.
 Deploy, manage, and maintain servers in both on-premise and cloud environments(Linux/Windows servers).
 Implement best practices for server hardening and ensure compliance with security protocols.
 Respond to and investigate security incidents, working to identify potential threats or breaches.
 Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., networking, systems, security) to resolve server and network security issues.
 Maintain accurate documentation of firewall configurations, security policies, andserver/network settings.
 Generate regular security reports to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
 Document incident response procedures and lessons learned for future reference.

Qualifications:
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field(or equivalent experience).
 Strong experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, etc.) and related security technologies.
 Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSH) and securitybest practices.
 Hands-on experience with VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control technologies.
 Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation tasks.

 Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
 Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
 Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (security, network, systems).  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
