Senior System Administrator

Overview

As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our IT infrastructure to guarantee peak performance, robust security, and maximum uptime. This role demands a high level of proficiency in system administration, networking, and cloud technologies to ensure a seamless and secure IT environment. You will take the lead in addressing complex technical challenges, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical systems. Your expertise will drive the ongoing improvement of our IT infrastructure and the delivery of scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

System and Server Management:

• Manage installation, maintenance, and optimization of servers (Linux, Windows Server, Unix).
• Support both virtual and physical servers (Hyper-V, VMware).
• Configure and manage file services, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.

Network Administration:

• Maintain and optimize LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues involving firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Implement and monitor robust security measures for network systems.

Security and Compliance:

• Enforce security policies (firewalls, access controls, authentication).
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments to address vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

• Use monitoring tools to track system performance.
• Resolve server, application, and network performance issues.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support and conduct root cause analyses.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Implement reliable backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Regularly test backup integrity and recovery protocols.

Automation and Scripting:

• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Use tools like Ansible, Puppet, and Chef to automate server upgrades and deployments.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain detailed documentation for systems and procedures.
• Generate reports on performance, security, and compliance.

Project Management and Collaboration:

• Lead or participate in IT projects, including system migrations and hardware upgrades.
• Collaborate with other departments to align IT solutions with business goals.
• Mentor and guide junior system administrators and IT staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• Operating systems: Linux, Windows Server, UNIX.
• Virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, KVM.
• Networking: Switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
• Tools: Nagios, SolarWinds.

Soft Skills:

Pay: ?40,000.00 - ?70,000.00 per month
