Your Career
We are seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer – DevOps (Cloud FinOps & Cloud Resource Optimization) to drive cloud cost efficiency and optimization strategies across AWS and GCP. This role requires a strong operations-minded individual with a track record of implementing structured processes to manage cloud costs effectively.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient cloud resource utilization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement FinOps best practices and build automation-driven solutions for cost governance. The ideal candidate has a deep technical background in DevOps, SRE, and FinOps engineering, with hands-on experience in cloud cost analysis, governance frameworks, and automation.
Your Impact
Optimize Cloud Costs: Continuously monitor AWS & GCP cloud usage and spending data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Develop Cost Strategies: Implement automated cloud cost optimization strategies and best practices to ensure efficient resource utilization.
Strong Operational Execution: Establish and enforce structured processes for cloud cost governance, budgeting, and spend optimization.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with Finance, Operations, and Engineering teams to define cloud cost controls, policies, and pricing model adjustments.
Cost & Usage Analytics: Analyze cloud usage patterns and trends to drive cost reductions, ensuring budget efficiency and financial accountability.
Cloud Resource Governance: Implement tagging policies, rightsizing strategies, and commitment-based purchasing (e.g., Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, CUDs).
Automation & Reporting: Develop automation tools for cost visibility, budgeting, and forecasting. Create dashboards and reports using AWS/GCP cost APIs and Tableau to track cloud spend.
Ensure Compliance & Efficiency: Drive adherence to FinOps standards, ensuring alignment with business goals, compliance frameworks, and cloud budget forecasts.
Qualifications
Your Experience
Strong operations mindset with a proven track record of implementing structured processes in cloud governance and cost management.
6-8 years of hands-on experience in AWS & GCP as a DevOps Engineer or SRE, with a strong Cloud FinOps focus.
3+ years of relevant experience specializing in Cloud Resource Optimization and FinOps automation.
FinOps Certified Practitioner or Associate (FinOps Foundation certification is a plus).
Strong programming skills in Python or Go for automation, cloud cost analysis, and FinOps tool development.
Experience working with AWS & GCP cost APIs, billing dashboards, and ElasticSearch for data aggregation.
Expertise in Terraform (IaC), cloud tagging policies, and cost allocation models.
Strong reporting and visualization experience using Tableau, AWS Cost Explorer, and GCP Cost Management tools.
Proven track record of process implementation, cloud governance, automated cost controls, and cloud financial forecasting
