Role Description
Sql Development, Etl
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources (databases, flat files, APIs, etc.) into data warehouses or other data storage systems.
- Develop and optimize SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data requirements and design robust data solutions.
- Implement error handling, data validation, and data cleansing logic within ETL workflows.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and transform data.
- Create stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to streamline data processing.
- Optimize query performance and ensure efficient use of indexes and database resources.
- Perform database tuning to ensure high performance and scalability for data-heavy applications.
- Integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse or other destinations.
- Implement data transformations according to business rules, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Perform data mapping and work with business analysts to ensure the data is structured appropriately for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and analysts to ensure that data is aligned with organizational goals and requirements.
- Support and maintain existing ETL processes and improve upon them to handle increasing data volumes.
- Troubleshoot issues in existing data pipelines and ensure smooth data flow without interruptions.
- Document ETL processes, data models, and SQL procedures to ensure clarity and maintainability.
- Provide reports and status updates to stakeholders on project progress, system performance, and data integrity.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi).
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Solid understanding of data integration, data transformation, and data loading processes.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Familiarity with cloud-based ETL tools and platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue) is a plus.
