We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and Scala to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in developing high-quality software solutions, utilizing Java and Scala technologies to meet our business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Scala, including robust integration with Akka and Akka Streams
• Create scalable applications with Java using frameworks such as Spring
• Implement and manage databases such as MySQL, Cassandra, and Neo4J to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
• Integrate messaging systems like Apache Kafka to facilitate asynchronous communication in applications
• Utilize AWS services including Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, Amazon API Gateway, and Kinesis to build and maintain cloud-based applications
• Troubleshoot and optimize production data pipelines
• Work collaboratively with clients and the offshore engineering team to identify and resolve issues
• Function as an integral part of the larger engineering team based in EPAM's Budapest office

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience as a software engineer
• Proficiency in Scala and its frameworks such as Akka and Akka Streams
• Competency in Java and experience with the Spring Framework
• Background in managing databases including MySQL, Cassandra, and Neo4J
• Skills in message-oriented middleware using Apache Kafka
• Experience working in an AWS environment with technologies such as Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, Amazon API Gateway, and Kinesis
• Understanding of troubleshooting production data pipelines
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams
