Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team and lead the migration of insurance policies from legacy systems to modern platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering and have delivered substantial data migration projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition of critical policy data while maintaining its integrity and meeting ambitious migration timelines.
What You Will Do As A Senior Software Engineer I
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of territory-specific data migration tooling to move complex data from legacy systems to modern insurance policy management systems.
- Change management: react quickly to statutory and regulatory changes in migration requirements
- Work closely with analysts, subject matter experts, and other teams to deliver robust software solutions and critical features supporting the project’s timeline.
- Drive the resolution of data errors or inconsistencies within migration data.
- Document migration processes, data mappings, and technical specifications for reference and compliance purposes, and how these mappings and specifications change over the life of the project.
What You Will Bring As A Senior Software Engineer I
- 6+ years of professional software development experience building backend applications
- Core competencies:
- Strong JVM experience (preferably Scala) in a microservice architecture
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Experience with Kubernetes or similar containerized software deployment/management tools
- Development Tools: Experience with development tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins, etc.
- Cloud Platforms: Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
- Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms and message queues
- Experience with continuous delivery and integration practices and version control
- Experience with automated testing frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to organize and self-direct to get things done, and knows when to ask questions
- Experience in the insurance domain, or any other regulated financial domain is a plus.
- Familiarity with legacy policy tracking systems such as SAP for Insurance, Guidewire, Duck Creek, etc. is a plus.
- Proven experience working with US based business teams
- Excellent written and communication skills in English language
- Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
- Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
