Senior Software Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the customer experience by developing robust APIs and services using Java and related technologies. You will also contribute to road mapping, debugging production issues, and ensuring system performance while leveraging modern tools and frameworks like Maven, Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines for efficient development and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Development & Delivery:

• Build a great customer experience for the clients using our services.

• Design, develop, and optimize APIs and backend services using Java, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot frameworks.

• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.

2. Roadmap Execution:

• Plan and implement technical roadmaps that balance business needs, user experience, and long-term sustainability.

• Make smart technical decisions that align with company goals and priorities.

3. Debugging & Optimization:

• Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to optimize end-to-end service performance.

4. Infrastructure & Automation:

• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.

• Use Docker for containerization to streamline application deployment and scalability.

• Leverage AWS services for hosting, scalability, and monitoring of applications.

5. Collaboration:

• Partner with customers and cross-functional stakeholders across Mobi to deliver value through a collaborative approach.

• Contribute to your peers' success by working across workstreams and supporting team goals.

6. Customer Obsession:

• Represent the customer experience in decision-making forums to drive the right outcomes.

• Focus on the needs of internal and external users while delivering solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2+ years of hands-on professional experience in designing and developing APIs and services.

• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and frameworks like Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.

• Experience working with databases like MySQL and Oracle, with the ability to write and optimize queries.

• Hands-on experience with Maven, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with AWS for deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.

• Strong software engineering skills and a passion for solving complex problems.

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and contribute to shared success.

• Customer-first mindset, with the ability to articulate and represent customer experience in various forums.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with JSP and frontend tools is an added advantage.

• Experience optimizing the end-to-end performance of services.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, or Lambda.

• Focus on user needs, holding yourself and others to a high standard when working with production systems.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
