Project Brief – What is Barsys X?

Barsys X is the future of intelligent beverage automation. Designed to be the most advanced cocktail-making platform in the world, Barsys X combines robotics, fluid mechanics, AI, and embedded systems into a single, seamless device. Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the development of core software systems for Barsys X, including real-time control, hardware abstraction, and cloud-device integration. You’ll work closely with our hardware and design teams, helping to translate complex requirements into elegant, scalable code that controls a full-stack robotic product used by thousands globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement core software modules in Python and C++ for real-time operations
• Work on embedded Linux systems (Raspberry Pi, Jetson, etc.), handling device I/O, sensors, and motor drivers
• Build and maintain system health tools, calibration routines, and remote diagnostics
• Develop and expose APIs that allow our mobile apps and cloud services to interact with the Barsys X device
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and design teams across time zones
• Provide technical mentorship and best practices to junior engineers
• Use LLMs to accelerate internal development workflows and support system intelligence
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software development (robotics, automation, IoT preferred)
• Proficiency in Python (required) and C/C++ (preferred)
• Experience with embedded systems and Linux-based hardware development
• Understanding of sensor integration, control systems, or hardware-software interfacing
• Familiarity with cloud communication protocols (REST, MQTT, etc.)
• Strong debugging skills and a passion for writing clean, modular code
• Excited to work in a hardware-meets-software environment
  
  

Bonus Points For

• Experience with drink automation, kitchen/food robotics, or precision dispensing systems
• Simulation tools (Gazebo, PyBullet), OpenCV, or ROS
• LLM-integrated development experience
• Academic background from top-tier institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, BITS Pilani, etc.
