About The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will engage in complex research, design, and software development tasks within a functional area or product line. You will provide input to project plans, schedules, and methodologies in developing cross-functional software products. This role involves software design across multiple systems, mentoring team members, and translating user/customer requests into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for developing complex system components.
• Complete complex bug fixes.
• Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
• Implement development processes, coding best practices, and conduct code reviews.
• Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
• Mentor entry-level software engineers, ensuring they are knowledgeable about key aspects of their roles.
• Stay updated on new technology developments.
• Design and work with complex data models.
• Mentor less-experienced software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Strong proficiency with data manipulation languages, including optimization techniques.
• In-depth understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.
• Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
• Expertise in development languages such as Node.JS, Typescript, SQL, and AWS Terraform.
• Excellent research skills.
• Knowledge of industry best practices in development.
• Experience with applicable tool sets.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external technology resources.
• Familiarity with test-driven development.
• Ability to write and review specifications for developing complex system components.
• Strong problem-solving skills for completing complex bug fixes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
