Senior Software Engineer- Tableau Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer- Tableau Engineer with the experience in Tableau Server, SQL & AWS you will be with Convera, you will be responsible to Install, configure, and upgrade Tableau Server and related components.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Tableau Server Administration:  
  
  

  - Install, configure, and upgrade Tableau Server and related components.  

  - Manage user access, security permissions, and authentication (SSO, Active Directory).  

  - Monitor system performance and troubleshoot server-related issues.  

  - Schedule and manage data extracts, refreshes, and automation tasks.  

  - Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning.  

• Dashboard & Report Management:  
  
  

  - Support Tableau developers by optimizing dashboards and reports.  

  - Ensure efficient data connections and performance tuning.  

  - Collaborate with business users to define reporting needs and best practices.  

  - Assist in dashboard migration, version control, and governance.  

• Data Management & Integration:  
  
  

  - Manage and optimize data sources connected to Tableau (SQL, cloud storage, APIs).  

  - Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security compliance.  

  - Work with ETL tools to support data preparation and integration.  

• Security & Compliance:  
  
  

  - Implement and enforce data governance policies.  

  - Set up role-based access control (RBAC) and permissions.  

  - Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.  

• Performance Optimization:  
  
  

  - Monitor Tableau Server usage and performance metrics.  

  - Tune extracts, queries, and dashboards for efficiency.  

  - Manage and optimize hardware and cloud resources.  

• Support & Training:  
  
  

  - Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot issues.  

  - Conduct training sessions for business users and developers.  

  - Document best practices and maintain knowledge base articles.  

Skills & Qualifications:  

• Technical Expertise:  
  
  

 - Strong knowledge of Tableau Server, Tableau Desktop, and Tableau Prep.  

 - Experience with SQL, data warehousing, and ETL tools.  

 - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.  

 - Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.  

• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:  
  
  

 - Ability to optimize Tableau dashboards and troubleshoot performance issues.  

 - Experience with data visualization best practices.  

• Security & Compliance:  
  
  

 - Understanding of RBAC, LDAP, Active Directory, and SSO authentication.  

 - Knowledge of data governance and compliance policies.  

• Soft Skills:  
  
  

 - Strong communication and collaboration skills.  

 - Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

 - Self-motivated and able to work independently.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.  
• Tableau Server Certified Associate or Professional certification (preferred).  
• Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, Looker, QlikView) is a plus.
