Job Tittle: Sr Software Engineer
Location: Hyderabad
Job Description:
Dev Tools team focuses on building and maintaining profilers and debuggers, the primary goal is to provide tools that help developers identify issues in their code, optimize performance, and ensure that their applications run efficiently. These tools are integrated with popular IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio, IntelliJ IDEA) and build systems, allowing developers to easily launch profiling sessions, visualize performance data, and tweak their code. These tools are developed as plugins or extensions for common development environments to automate profiling/Debugging and making it easier for developers to spot issues early in the development cycle.
As part of the Dev Tools team, the candidate would be responsible for developing tools and systems that analyze, monitor, and optimize the performance of computing systems, with a specific focus on CPU, GPU, and overall system performance. This role allows you to contribute to the cutting-edge of performance optimization and profiling, ensuring that both CPU and GPU-intensive applications run at peak efficiency while helping teams identify bottlenecks and performance limitations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Writing high-quality C++ code: Developing new functionality, optimizing performance, and solving complex technical problems in C++.
- Ensuring code quality: Writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Performance tuning and optimization: Identifying performance bottlenecks and applying optimization techniques, such as multithreading, memory management, and low-level optimizations.
- Multi-threading and concurrency management: Developing software that takes advantage of multi-core processors through efficient multi-threading and parallel processing techniques.
- Ensuring robust testing: Designing and implementing unit tests, integration tests, and other forms of automated testing to ensure software reliability.
- Troubleshooting and debugging: Identifying and resolving bugs, performance issues, and system failures using debugging tools (e.g., gdb, Valgrind).
- Continuous integration (CI): Integrating code into the main branch frequently, ensuring that the codebase remains stable through automated testing.
- SDK Improvements: Understanding the requirements against sub-components and crucial features of upcoming Blaize SDK.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science.
- At least 3+ years of experience in software development
- One should have a strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals.
- Strong knowledge of coding and good problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of working on complex systems or software products.
- Experience with software lifecycle management (design, development, deployment, and maintenance).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in C++ Programming:
- Extensive experience with modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20).
- Deep understanding of memory management, object-oriented design, and data structures in C++.
- Knowledge of C++ Standard Library (STL), templates, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with Software Development Tools:
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Experience with build tools like CMake, Makefiles, or other CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient in debugging tools and techniques (e.g., gdb, Valgrind).
- Software Development Methodologies:
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of versioning, release management, and change control processes.
Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to approach complex problems methodically.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
