We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

What you need to know about the role- We are in search of a talented software engineer to join our risk partnerships engineering team. As a member of this team, you’ll work with data scientists, product managers, and partners like Xoom and Venmo to fight fraud, launch new products, and expand to new markets. Meet our team The Risk Adjacencies engineering team builds solutions that allow PayPal’s subsidiaries and partners fight fraud. If you’ve used Venmo or Xoom – there’s a good chance that you’ve used our solutions, which allow millions of daily users to move money safely using PayPal’s products.

As a Senior Software Engineer - Backend, you'll design and implement backend solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

What do you need to bring:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working on engineering teams, delivering code in large-scale, complex software projects
• Solid understanding of Object-oriented programming (using Java) and related tools
• Demonstrated ability and understanding of automated testing principles and applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Input, ideas, creativity – we’re a collaborative team, and want our engineers to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders to solve problems
