
Overview
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Translates complex business requirements and functional specifications into executable stories, designs, and code modules; partners with product teams to understand business needs and functional specifications.
- Independently writes high quality, maintainable, and robust code by building adequate test suits and observability framework.
- Guides application and software development teams in the design and build of complex solutions and ensures teams are in alignment with the architecture blueprint, standards, and strategies.
- Participates and mentors other engineers in software development technologies and processes by creating onboarding documents, root cause analysis, key learnings, demos, and share-out sessions.
- Automates and simplifies team development, tests, and operations processes for efficiency of delivering the work.
- Evaluates modern software, tools, and technologies to provide objective analysis and recommendations to the team.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features and improvements.
- Analyze and optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and enhance system scalability and responsiveness.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends, tools, and frameworks. Continuously improve development processes and workflows to increase efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner. Work with the team to identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Years of Experience:
- 5 years of experience in software development or a related field
- 4 years of experience in any of following competencies: Expertise in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, Go), middleware (microservices and application programming interfaces), database technologies, or DevOps. Awareness of frontend technologies is added advantage.
- 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC) through iterative agile development
- 4 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software environment, developing, and implementing business systems within an organization, and working with source code control systems
- 4 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework, defect or incident tracking software, web services, and application and integration middleware
- 4 years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high level design for complex solutions
- 4 years of experience working with three or more of the following: Continuous integration/continuous deployment tools, frontend technologies, middleware, database technologies, and/or DevOps

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree In Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), or related field (or Equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
Programming Languages: Expertise in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, Go).
- SaaS Development: Strong experience in building, deploying, and maintaining SaaS applications with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cloud infrastructure.
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (serverless, microservices).
- Web Development Frameworks: Awareness in frameworks like React, Angular, Node.js, Django, Flask, Spring Boot, or similar is added advantage.
- Database Management: Strong knowledge of both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). Ability to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
- Version Control Systems: Proficient in using Git for version control and managing code in collaborative environments.
- API Development & Integration: Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services and APIs.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD). Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or JUnit.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile development environments and using Agile tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.) for task management and collaboration.
- Problem-Solving & Debugging: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues and optimize code performance.
- Security Best Practices: Familiarity with secure coding practices, data encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
Secondary Skills (desired)
DevOps Practices: Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including infrastructure as code (IaC), automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and managing infrastructure on cloud platforms.
