Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Software Engineer - 1 (SSE-1) to join Parspec's talented engineering team. This pivotal role requires a blend of backend system design, coding expertise, project leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring. As an SSE-1, you will drive the delivery of innovative features, ensuring robustness, scalability, and seamless integration with Parspec's AI-powered platform.

You will collaborate closely with the Product, Frontend, and AI teams to transform feature ideas into reliable solutions, playing an active role in the product lifecycle from estimation to production deployment & its associated support. You will also oversee and enhance critical infrastructure on AWS and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Feature Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend systems (including APIs, messaging solution) to support new features while ensuring modular code design, maintainability.
• Performance Optimization: Implement design patterns and create systems that are highly performant (exhibiting sub-second latency)
• System Scalability: Build backend systems capable of scaling efficiently with increasing user demands.
• Project Leadership: Lead feature/project lifecycle, from estimation to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• System Design: Architect and optimize distributed backend systems, ensuring low latency, high availability, and maintainability.
• Team Collaboration: Act as the key point of coordination between Frontend, AI, and Backend teams to deliver cohesive features.
• Code Ownership: Maintain high standards of code quality through reviews, modular design, and adherence to best practices.
• Infrastructure Management: Deploy, maintain, and optimize backend services and infrastructure on AWS/GCP.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers to foster growth and development.
• Testing and Debugging: Ensure thorough testing of features and tackle debugging challenges in production systems.
  
  

Who You Are

• Experience: 4-6 years in backend software development, with demonstrable success in leading project-level initiatives.
• Technical Expertise: Strong grasp of Python, Golang, or equivalent object-oriented programming languages.
• Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MySQL (knowledge or hands-on on PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Dynamo DB, elasticsearch is preferred since we use - Postgres, MongoDB, dynamo db and elasticsearch in parspec ecosystem), schema design, and query optimization.
• Problem-Solver: Proven ability to navigate complex problems and build scalable solutions in distributed systems.
• Collaborator: Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams, including Product, AI, and Frontend.
• Self-Starter: Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for taking ownership and driving impactful results.
  
  

Requirements

Must-Have:

• Proficiency in backend software development with Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, SOA, and microservice architectures.
• Experience deploying and managing services on AWS and GCP.
• Hand-on on Mysql db
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Skilled in performance optimization and debugging in distributed systems.
• Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior team members.
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience implementing design patterns and writing modular, maintainable code.
• Exposure to AI/ML pipelines and Elasticsearch integration.
• Hands-on on Postgres, mongo db, dynamo db & elasticsearch is preferred.
• Knowledge of web servers and distributed systems and its architecture.
• Experience with frontend-backend coordination in feature development.
• Familiarity with data pipeline technologies and AI-powered search workflows.
• Familiarity with git, GitHub, code review processes and CI/CD pipelines.
