About the role
We're building a new QA team in Kochi and have some exciting new openings for QA Engineers at different levels, working specifically on our elementsuite product and working closely with UK-based engineering teams. You'll work on a hybrid basis from our Kochi Infopark offices (3 days per week in the office, 2 days per week working remotely). Please note you'll be supporting UK hours, so working hours will be 1pm-10pm/2pm-11pm.
You'll create and maintain test deliverables - including test plans, test data, and test scripts. You'll focus on using different testing methods and increase coverage of automated testing tools to improve overall depth of testing of the elementsuite application. Your role will be critical in helping us build a culture of testing that is incorporated into the Software Development Lifecycle within the development and release management teams.

Key responsibilities in the role will include:
- Performing functional testing of software and recording results in a clear and concise format.
- Managing the prioritisation and reporting of defects to the development teams and ensuring development work is carried out in accordance with schedule and quality requirements.
- Communicating effectively and in a timely manner when test defects could lead to material risk, commercial impact, and/or reputational damage.
- Providing support to the development teams during all stages of the software release process.
- Providing estimates, feedback and metrics relating to the test delivery phases for project scheduling purposes, and reporting on test activities.
- Staying on top of industry trends and techniques, sharing these with your colleagues.
- Expanding test coverage to performance testing, including peak load and soak testing.
- Increasing your knowledge of SQL to enhance productivity in the creation of test deliverables and reports.
Skills & experience
- Ability to write test scripts and appropriately detailed test plans based on need, functionality specifications, and complexity.
- Use of manual and automation test techniques, such as Selenium, and technologies such as Cucumber and Gherkin syntax.
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with different teams.
- Previous experience working within testing HR related applications and with UK-based teams desirable.
