Overview

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Python Developer with expertise in backend development, particularly with Python and NodeJS. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for building scalable, high-performance applications. You will work closely with a dynamic Agile team to create innovative solutions for our projects, utilizing cutting-edge technologies including Python, NodeJS, React, GraphQL, Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and NodeJS, ensuring scalability and high performance.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate Python/NodeJS-based backends with React or similar front-end frameworks.
• Utilize GraphQL and Apollo Client to design efficient APIs and data querying mechanisms.
• Build and deploy cloud-based applications on Azure infrastructure, using Kubernetes for orchestration and management.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL to design and optimize database schemas.
• Integrate Kafka for data sharing and message-driven architecture.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, ensuring smooth deployments and continuous integration.
• Apply best practices in software development, including version control (GitHub) and agile methodologies.
• Collaborate in an Agile team, participating in sprints, sprint planning, and stand-ups, ensuring timely delivery of features and bug fixes.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers, reviewing their code and assisting with their professional development.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in backend development.

Technical Skills & Experience Required:

• 6-7 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Python and NodeJS.
• Strong experience in backend development with Python and NodeJS.
• Familiarity with React or other similar front-end frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of GraphQL and Apollo Client.
• Experience working with Azure Cloud services and Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases like PostgreSQL or any other similar RDBMS.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka for building event-driven architectures and data sharing.
• Experience in CI/CD tools and processes, including GitHub Actions, for automating deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Storybook, RestAPI, Cypress, and D3 would be advantageous.
• Proven experience working in Agile environments and contributing to an Agile team's success.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for helping others and sharing knowledge.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with D3.js for data visualization.
• Experience with containerization and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of front-end development practices, particularly in React.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Cypress for automated testing.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Helm for managing deployments in cloud environments.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
