Senior PL-SQL Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior PL/SQL Developer to join our dynamic development team in Pune.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable database solutions using PL/SQL.

You will be responsible for understanding business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and delivering high-quality code.

This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of relational database concepts, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Design and Development :

• Design and develop complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain database schemas and objects.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  
  

Performance Tuning And Optimization

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in PL/SQL code and SQL queries.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and other techniques.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  
  

Troubleshooting And Support

• Troubleshoot and debug database-related issues in production and development environments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
• Analyze and resolve data integrity issues.
  
  

Collaboration And Communication

• Collaborate effectively with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
  
  

Documentation

• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed code, database designs, and processes.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  
  

Staying Updated

• Keep abreast of the latest PL/SQL features, database technologies, and industry trends.
• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to existing systems and processes.
  
  

Required Skills And Experience

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience : 6-7 years of hands-on experience in PL/SQL development.

PL/SQL Expertise

• Strong proficiency in writing complex PL/SQL code, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
• Excellent understanding of PL/SQL best practices, coding standards, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with error handling, exception handling, and transaction management in PL/SQL.
  
  

SQL Expertise

• Solid understanding of relational database concepts (e., normalization, indexing).
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries (e., joins, subqueries, analytical functions).
• Experience with database design and schema management.
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle databases (specific version preferred, e., Oracle 12c, 19c).
• Understanding of database administration tasks is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL Developer or similar database IDEs.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Shell scripting is a plus
