Overview
- Act as technical manager and mentor to a team of network engineers who:
- Implement, manage and support private cloud firewalls in a multi-tenant, multi-VR environment, supporting many overlapping private customer networks.
- Implement and manage all firewall security policies. Review and approve firewall security policies which adhere to compliance requirements.
- Implement and maintain firewall infrastructure and security policies adhering to HIPAA and PCI-DSS requirements, provide evidence to security compliance teams for ongoing audits.
- Provide primary support for private cloud connectivity within the data center, with all solutions operating in a multi-DMZ firewall model.
- Provide primary support for all customer-facing connectivity to the private cloud using Equinix Fabric (BGP routing with firewalls) and MPLS based (BGP and static routing with firewalls).
- Provide primary support for all connectivity of the managed services platform to customer premise environments, using primarily IPSEC-VPN tunnels (terminating on a multi-tenant hardware firewall), integrating with customer-owned equipment consisting of multiple vendor firewalls and IPSEC-VPN solutions.
- Directly communicate with customers, hardware/software vendors and service providers.
- Apply mastery level expertise with knowledge of industry trends and ability to apply concepts in support of business requirements.
- Find solutions to isolate, resolve, and prevent the most complex network transport problems across multiple teams/technologies.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts within the data center firewalls, external to the data center over various WAN connectivity methods, and over Internet-based connectivity.
- Independently review and verify changes/solutions of high complexity and ensure governance and change management practices are followed.
- Lead network security related improvement projects in the private cloud environment to meet business needs and customer requirements.
- Act as Teir-3/4 support for troubleshooting and resolution of any firewall or related networking problems.
- Maintains organizational SLO, SLA, and business continuity programs.
