Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Overview:
As a Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud-based infrastructure. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment, operation, and scaling of our applications. Your role will involve strategizing, mentoring junior team members, and implementing robust disaster recovery systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle.- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of code changes.
- Monitor and optimize build, test, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Develop and manage infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible.- Automate provisioning and configuration of servers, databases, and other infrastructure components.
- Ensure infrastructure is scalable, resilient, and secure.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Architect and maintain Google cloud-based solutions.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization to reduce costs and enhance performance.
- Implement security best practices for cloud environments.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Systems:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust disaster recovery solutions to safeguard against data loss and service interruptions.
Monitoring and Incident Management:
Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.- Automate repetitive tasks and processes to reduce manual intervention and minimize errors.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Foster a positive team environment and act as a key player in achieving project goals.
Mentorship:
- Guide and mentor junior DevOps engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Provide technical leadership and insights to drive best practices.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute strategies to optimize cloud infrastructure performance and cost.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Self-driven Excellence:
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative and drive.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to innovate and improve our DevOps practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 7+ years of experience managing large-scale applications in the cloud.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically with Google Cloud.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud architecture and services, particularly Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Groovy).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Helm, Chef, Puppet)
- Knowledge of database management and optimization
- Experience with network configuration and management
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
