Job Brief
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer / DevOps professional who is self-motivated and possesses excellent troubleshooting skills.
Requirements:
Extensive Knowledge of AWS:
- EC2, ECS, ELB, Elasticache, ElasticSearch (OpenSearch), RDS (MariaDB and Aurora), ASG, S3, CloudFront, Elastic Transcoder, CodePipeline.
Extensive Knowledge of Linux:
- Expertise in Ubuntu / CentOS.
- Hard drive mounting and OS issue debugging.
- Bash scripting and scheduled auto backups.
- Deploying WordPress, Laravel, and Node.js applications with Nginx.
Extensive Knowledge of Docker / Docker Swarm:
- Creating Docker Compose files for multi-stack applications.
- Uploading images to AWS ECR for ECS deployment.
- Automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines.
Extensive Knowledge of DevOps:
- Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
- Experience with developer tools (LAMP, MAMP, Local, Docker, DevKinsta).
- Expertise in Nginx & Apache Web Servers and Certbot SSL (Standalone for Docker).
- Configuring read-only hosting environments, PHP-FPM, and proxying Node.js.
- Debugging and resolving issues related to WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Managing and maintaining databases, backups, and hosting environments.
- Troubleshooting WordPress errors, security vulnerabilities, and performance issues.
- Familiarity with Bedrock or headless WordPress.
- Version control using GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.
- Setting up GitHub Actions for pre-merge health checks.
- Configuring CircleCI for deployments.
Extensive Knowledge of Cloud Hosting:
- Experience with AWS, Digital Ocean, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, UpCloud, Linode, etc.
- Server management with Nginx, Apache, and cloud hosting environments.
- Performing database migrations, backups, and restores (mysqldump, phpMyAdmin, WP-CLI).
- Debugging WordPress errors (500 errors, database connection issues, theme/plugin conflicts).
- Troubleshooting production issues and coordinating resolutions with the development team.
Hosting Experience:
- Experience with Kinsta, Flywheel, WPEngine, CloudWays, GridPane, Pagely, Pantheon.
- Working knowledge of cPanel, WHM, and cloud-based hosting solutions.
- Monitoring with NewRelic, CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.
Must Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator.
- Strong communication skills.
- A great learning attitude.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer / DevOps Engineer with a focus on scalable and secure cloud architecture.
