Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, automation, and monitoring to support the development and deployment of scalable applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, infrastructure as code (IaC), and containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. This role will be instrumental in improving our system reliability, deployment efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Manage cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor Kubernetes clusters using EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack, or Datadog.
- Ensure system reliability and uptime by implementing best practices in SRE and incident management.
- Enhance security and compliance by implementing IAM policies, role-based access controls (RBAC), and security tools like Vault, Falco, or AWS Security Hub.
- Develop and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure proactive issue resolution.
- Optimize cloud costs by managing resource utilization, auto-scaling, and rightsizing instances.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth application deployment and performance optimization.
- Implement and improve disaster recovery strategies, backup solutions, and high-availability architectures.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native services.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automation with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration with EKS, AKS, or GKE.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Good understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, DNS, Load Balancing, and Firewalls.
- Security best practices knowledge including IAM, encryption, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with Git-based workflows and version control best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex cloud and infrastructure issues.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and collaborating with development teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, Google Cloud Functions).
- Familiarity with Chaos Engineering for reliability testing (e.g., Gremlin, Chaos Monkey).
- Exposure to machine learning model deployment and MLOps best practices.
- Experience with Hybrid and Multi-cloud environments.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Expert, or Google Professional DevOps Engineer.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
