Seeking a data-driven individual to join the Strategic Insights team within Engineering to empower customers with actionable insights, improving proposal quality, win rates, and team productivity. Focus on enhancing dashboard usability, integrating tailored recommendations, increasing team productivity through analytics, and showcasing Loopio's ROI to executives.
We are looking for an experienced data scientist to drive the research and development of statistical, machine learning/NLP models to power our product suite. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team of creative and passionate individuals committed to solve real-world problems with modern AI practices. All aspects of building data science products are familiar to you: wrangling with messy or missing data, feature engineering, prototyping statistical/machine learning models, and coding up an appropriate solution that’s fit for production. You are driven by the thought of solving real-world business problems and a practical mindset.
This role requires close collaboration with teams across Canada, the UK, and India. To accommodate the time zone differences, you will be expected to work from 11 am to 7:30 pm IST.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where statistical analysis, machine learning, and Natural Language Processing can improve business processes
Working with product managers to translate product requirements into R&D activities
Researching, developing, and validating models to generate predictions, recommendations, alerts, and other insights
Working with engineers to collect, clean, and perform feature engineering and selection on customer data to support model R&D activities
Working with engineers on the delivery and integration of models into product
Collaborating to define key ML infrastructure and experimentation workflow
What You’ll Bring to the Team
5+ years of experience in applied statistical analysis and machine learning in a software development environment, ideally using Natural Language Processing
Experience in the use of statistical analysis and machine learning tools, packages and languages such as scikit-learn, pandas and numpy
Strong scripting and engineering skills in Python and proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
Experience in a high growth agile software development environment (Scrum or Kanban)
Experience with py-spark / Databricks and AWS is a plus
Experience with deep learning techniques especially for NLP, search and reinforcement learning techniques a plus

Loopio is a remote-first workplace because we recognize the advantages of working flexibly. We are HQ’d in Canada, with established hub regions around the world where we hire from.
Our employees (or Loopers, as we call ourselves!) live and work in Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), London, and India (specifically in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru).
Our India/UK hub employees work according to business hours stated in the job description above. This is intentionally designed to enable our global teams to have overlapping hours for collaboration.
You’ll collaborate with your teams virtually across the UK, India, and North America (we’re just a Zoom call and Slack message away!) with core sync hours and focus time for headsdown work during the workday
