Job Description Summary:

The Data and Analytics team at Rocket Software plays a critical role to equip teams with data capabilities that enable business insights and informed decisions. The Senior Data Engineer is responsible to provide clean, transformed data ready for analysis. They transform data into analytically enriched information that serves as the data foundation for strategy, planning, execution, performance management, and advanced analytics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, build, document, and maintain scalable and analytically enriched data models.
• Establish and maintain analytics architecture principles, guidelines, and best practices.
• Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code (e.g. version control, testing, continuous integration).
• Maintain data documentation and definitions within Rockets data catalog.
• Effectively partner and collaborate with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Responsible for the overall data architecture, technical design, and development within multiple functional areas or domains.
• Continuously make recommendations and put forth ideas to enhance data architecture, data models, processes, systems and platforms.
• Well versed in the software development lifecycle and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the development process.
• Lead the overall development and implementation for system enhancements, new features, and larger projects / initiatives.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 6-9 years of experience working in data / analytics engineering or related field.
• Experience working with one or more leading database technologies (Snowflake, Oracle, Redshift, etc.).
• Experience working with one or more ELT technologies (dbt, Fivetran, Informatica Powercenter, Oracle Data Integrator, etc.).
• Experience as a developer or technical lead supporting a major systems implementation or initiative spanning data warehousing, master data management, related systems integrations, or similar domains.
• Able to communicate effectively to a broad set of stakeholders.
• Able to balance project work in conjunction with smaller enhancements and sustaining engineering activities.
• Works well in a team. Team oriented, collaborative, accountable and dependable
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with agile/scrum development processes.
• Experience working with large data sets within an enterprise data warehouse.
• Experience working with both cloud and on-premise systems.
• Familiarity with Python, Scala, or similar programming / scripting languages.
  
  

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred

Minimal, <5%
