The Impact: This role is essential for the Market Intelligence Group of S&P as it ensures the development of new software solutions and continuous improvement and stability of our existing applications. Role will enable our clients with a seamless user experience and access to up-to-date data, ultimately bolstering their confidence in our services and reinforcing our competitive position in the market.

Responsibilities:
Develop, construct, test, and maintain data architectures, including databases and large-scale processing systems, ensuring high levels of data availability and quality.
Collaborate with the team to implement complex data projects, offering expertise in data storage structures.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to establish a robust data platform on modern data architectures and frameworks.
Apply best practices in data management and governance, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security policies.
Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

What We’re Looking For:
5 to 9 years’ experience in data engineering or related fields : Demonstrated experience in writing efficient SQL queries and designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines with a focus on performance and scalability.
Proficiency in Python, Airflow, AWS : In addition to the mentioned technologies, proficiency in a broader range of data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, EMR, S3, Glue or others relevant to senior roles.
Experience in both Windows and Linux environments : Comfortable working across diverse technology stacks and adaptable to different operating systems.
Code quality and architectural improvements: Drive ongoing enhancements in code quality, best practices, and architectural decisions to ensure a robust and scalable data infrastructure.
Effective teamwork and Agile experience: Proven success in Agile development environments, exhibiting strong communication skills, both written and verbal, while mentoring fellow engineers and contributing to product direction.
Mentoring and Leadership: Mentor junior team members, provide guidance, and contribute to the future direction of our data engineering efforts.

Additional Skills (Preferred):
Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Big Data technologies like Apache Spark or Hadoop ecosystem.
Experience with data warehousing solutions and data lakes.
Familiarity with DBT and its implementation in data transformation.
