Department Overview

The IT On-Prem Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of the organization’s on-premises infrastructure as well as its cloud-based resources. This role involves leading a team of IT professionals in maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing physical and virtual systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the IT environment.

Job Description

• Key Responsibilities**:
• Lead and manage the on-premises and cloud operations team, providing technical expertise, guidance, and direction.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of on-premises hardware, including servers, storage systems, and network devices.
• Manage cloud-based resources, ensuring optimal configuration, cost-efficiency, and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Develop and implement best practices for infrastructure management, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate with other IT teams, such as security, development, and application support, to ensure seamless integration and operation of all IT systems.
• Monitor system performance, conduct regular system audits, and provide reports on the health and status of the IT infrastructure.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure SLAs are met for both on-premises and cloud-based services.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and propose upgrades and enhancements to keep the infrastructure current and competitive.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and service records.
• Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Provide leadership in incident and problem management, including timely resolution of issues and root cause analysis.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting for IT infrastructure-related expenses.
• Mentor and develop team members, setting performance goals and facilitating career growth.
  
  

Basic Requirements

• Qualifications**:
  
  

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP).

A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Strong knowledge of on-premises infrastructure technologies and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Experience with virtualization technologies, containerization, and orchestration platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes).

Proficiency in network architecture and security principles.

Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and project management methodologies.

Excellent Problem-solving, Communication, And Interpersonal Skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
