Work Experience
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with 8+ years of expertise in the Oil and Natural Gas industry. In this role, you will leverage your deep industry knowledge to support strategic initiatives, optimize business processes, and translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions. You will work closely with key stakeholders, technical teams, and senior management to ensure alignment with business objectives and drive value across various projects.
Work Experience
- Lead Requirement Gathering: Conduct thorough requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders, including subject matter experts, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of business needs and objectives.
- Process Analysis & Improvement: Analyze business processes specific to the Oil and Natural Gas industry, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization. Propose actionable solutions to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Document Requirements & Specifications: Develop detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, and process flow diagrams for technical teams to follow.
- Business Case Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to create business cases, including cost-benefit analyses, to support project initiatives and align with company objectives.
- Translate Business Needs into Technical Solutions: Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications and implemented solutions.
- Support Project Management: Act as a liaison between the business and technical teams, supporting the project manager in ensuring project goals, timelines, and deliverables are met.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain continuous communication with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization, providing updates on project status, challenges, and solutions. Ensure that all business requirements are fully understood and met.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that business solutions are compliant with industry-specific regulations, safety standards, and best practices, especially in areas such as environmental compliance, supply chain management, and safety protocols.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage data analytics to assess business performance and recommend improvements. Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management to support decision-making.
- Change Management: Facilitate smooth transitions when implementing new systems, processes, or technologies. Support training and adoption efforts across business teams.
- Market Insights: Stay updated on trends, challenges, and opportunities in the Oil & Natural Gas industry and leverage that knowledge to propose innovative solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with significant domain expertise in the Oil and Natural Gas industry.
- Deep understanding of industry-specific processes, challenges, and technologies, including exploration, production, refining, and distribution in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Expertise in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements, creating functional specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance, and safety standards within the Oil & Natural Gas sector (e.g., Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), OSHA).
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions, collaborating with IT teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Experience with business process modeling, process mapping, and workflow optimization in an enterprise environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and technical teams.
- Ability to lead workshops and meetings to ensure clear understanding of business goals and requirements.
- Experience with Agile project methodologies, including tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques for reporting and decision-making.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for documentation and presentations.
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree or certifications in relevant fields (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), etc.).
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems used in the Oil and Gas industry (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in the energy sector, such as automation, IoT integration, or AI-based optimization.
- Knowledge of geospatial information systems (GIS) or data management systems relevant to the Oil & Gas industry.
