Working as a member of the Advanced Analytics Team within Deloitte Global, the data engineer/wrangler will act as a key contributor to advanced analytics projects that deliver business value to senior stakeholders and will be integral to the success of the team
It is key the candidate has a sound strategic and tactical understanding of data technologies and processes to ensure rapid delivery of projects
Duties and Responsibilities
* Partner closely with the data architect and data scientists to develop data models that will support advanced analytics projects for key stakeholders
- Validate quality and completeness of data and fit for purpose and highlight gaps and challenges to ensure success of stakeholder projects
- Understanding of different data domains and designs to support the needs of the data scientists to support modelling and algorithms
- Define and develop ETL routines to ingest structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources
- Validate quality and completeness of data and fit for purpose and highlight gaps and challenges to ensure success of stakeholder projects
- Participate in the definition of project schedules with key milestones and deliver to the agreed plan
Required Technical Skills
* Experience in Azure Databrick and good command over PySpark/Python and SQL is must.
- Experience with ETL/ELT (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory) is a must
- Experience in database design, development with advanced proficiency in SQL is a must
- Experience with data cleansing techniques and tools is a must
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, Qlik Sense
- Good attention to detail and accuracy, manage multiple goals and deadlines and while providing valuable support to stakeholders in the realm of quality assurance.
- Knowledge of responsive and tool agnostic design principles, proactively stay up to date on latest technological advancements in the Data space.
Non-Mandatory/ Good to Have Skill:
* Working experience with Hadoop, HBase, Hive or MapReduce is a plus.
- Experience with unstructured text analytics is a plus
- Certified Azure Data Engineer/ Data Brick Certified Data Engineer - Optional
Education
* 3 to 5 years industry experience with a bachelor’s in computer science or related field
