The Scrum Master is responsible for leading Client and Distribution engineering teams to deliver end to end data solutions for the business. The scrum master should have the capability to support the squad in the delivery of high quality deliverables. This will include coordinating across the teams in the Client and Distribution Platform whilst providing support and clarity in the deliverables. The scrum master will serve as the point of escalation for project related activities, and is the escalation point for the stakeholder. They are expected to multi-task and work across multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Your key priorities will gravitate around enabling the design & implementation of end to end solutions to support the development of a market leading Client and Distribution platform to meet increased demands across the investment teams, clients and the regulators.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
- Enable the team to provide a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders
- Enable the squad to deliver change at the pace and scale required for an organisation undertaking sustained transformation
- Develop a highly-motivated, client-focussed and high-performing delivery team.
- Continue to improve the quality of the team and its individual members. Highlight where strengthening and change is required.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of product and business strategy and lead large and/or complex analysis initiatives impacting one or more teams
- Prioritise and organise the backlogs to ensure the deliveries deliver value early, ensuring the operational processes are documented and accepted
- Ensure that full transparency is provided back to Product Owners, the Leadership team and Stakeholders on a regular basis
- Provide actionable updates and metrics that can be used to better steer the squad
- Create a seamless process encompassing delivery, releases and general planning exercises inconjunction with your peers.
- Deliver and maintain delivery plans and timelines to the Stakeholders
- Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
- Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output
- Be able to foresee, prevent, and mitigate risks and issues with delivery, to take fresh views and avoid rigid thought patterns
- Ability to negotiate, influence and work with business peers and management to achieve the right outcomes
- Support your team in making effective decisions, collaborate across silos, speak up and take personal accountability
- Identifying and escalating both delivery and operational risks to the management team.

Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven project management and Scrum Master expertise.
- Strong working experience using Agile and DevOps
- Experience in data solutions, system integration, platform upgrades and migration activities
- Experience of working with global application development and support teams
- Proactive self-starter who can manage their own workload and can juggle multiple priorities at the same time
- Applying a “solutions” mentality for any outcome that you are assigned to and ensure proper solutions design is considered
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally, within a project team
- Strong coaching and mentoring ability
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills, results oriented
- Experience in delivery resource estimation
- Experience in people leadership
- Excellent Customer & stakeholder management skills
- Ability to identify problems and have the drive to follow them through to resolution
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and work efficiently to project deadlines
- Experience working with Cloud solutions (preferably Azure)
Knowledge and skills (desirable):
- Exposure to financial markets & asset management processes and understand analysis into a wide variety of asset classes and associated analytics (e.g. Equity, Fixed Income, Private Assets etc).
- A good understanding of client and distribution processes
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline
Experience:
- 12+ years of total experience in software development
- 5+ years of experience in delivering outcomes for large programmes/projcts in the BFSI space (Investments experience would be a bonus)
- 3+ years of experience of working as a scrum master (on-shore, off-shore and near-shore)
