Job Title: Ruby Developer Intern

About the Role

As a Ruby Developer Intern, you’ll join our team in Pune to gain hands‑on experience building and maintaining web applications with Ruby on Rails. You’ll work under the guidance of senior engineers, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and learn industry best practices for software development, testing, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing Ruby on Rails applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and front‑end developers to implement new features.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code under the mentorship of senior engineers.
• Help troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews to learn and uphold code quality standards.
• Support integration of APIs and third‑party services.
• Contribute to documentation and testing (using RSpec or Minitest).
• Learn and apply DevOps practices, including containerization with Docker and deployments to AWS.
• Stay current with Ruby on Rails trends, tools, and community best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Ruby and the Rails framework (academic projects, personal projects, or coursework).
• Basic understanding of web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Exposure to relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and writing simple SQL queries.
• Interest in RESTful API design and integration.
• Version control experience with Git.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a desire to learn and grow.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in an agile team environment.
• Enthusiasm for software architecture and design patterns.
